Tim Tszyu next fight date set against Takeshi Inoue

While No.1-ranked WBO junior middleweight contender is waiting for his opportunity to claim the world title, he faces No.7-ranked Takeshi Inoue of Japan. If successful, he is expected to challenge the winner of Jermell Charlo vs Brian Castano rematch.

Undefeated Tim Tszyu (19-0, 15 KOs) last fought in July, when he stopped Stevie Spark in the third round. Takeshi Inoue (17-1-1, 10 KOs) was in action last November when he scored a unanimous decision against Nath Nwachukwu.

The bout is reportedly scheduled for 10 rounds with WBO Asia Pacific and WBO Global super welterweight titles on the line.

Tszyu vs Inoue tickets and venue (reportedly in Queensland) information is expected to be announced shortly. 

The list of bouts featured on Tszyu vs Inoue undercard is also expected to follow in due course. Among the matchups, Wade Ryan (19-9, 7 KOs) and Ben Mahoney (11-0, 6 KOs) are expected to square off in a ten-rounder with a vacant IBO Intercontinental super welterweight title on the line.

Super-welterweight showdown locked in for the Gold Coast

Great news for boxing fans on the Gold Coast, a major showdown is headed our way.

Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate says this is a major coup for the city.

“Tim is our adopted son. He loves being on the Gold Coast when away from Sydney and he has established our city as his second training base.

“I applaud promoters and Major Events Gold Coast for bringing this mega-fight together. I’ll be ringside when the bell rings,” he said.

Tszyu, 26, declared this fight against Inoue as the most important of his career, confident he has what it takes to stop the WBO’s #7 ranked fighter in the division.

“Inoue is a very accomplished and talented fighter. He is crafty in the ring and like all Japanese boxers, very brave.” Tszyu said.

“He will need to be though because I know he has never fought anyone like me before.

“I’m putting in the hard work now and come fight night, I’m going to be ready to show the world once again just what I can do,” Tszyu said.

Inoue declared he get the knock-out punch.

“Tszyu is a very good fighter but I’m very confident in my ability.
